On the right of the atrium is the
reconstructed Tomb no. 5, found during the Campo
Boario excavations.

Reconstruction of tomb no. 5. Reconstruction
work was based on the surveys, elevations and photographs taken at the
time of the excavation, using the original material taken from the
discovery site by mechanical means, detaching and removing the entire
tomb structure and then carefully excavating it at the laboratory. A
mold was made of the perimeter of the tomb using a dual-component
silicone product, obtaining negative impressions that made it possible
to produce an accurate positive cast of resin and hardener. Thus a
reconstruction that is very close to the real tomb was created,
completed by copies of the burial objects and of the skeleton of the
deceased. |
